I didn't get to read all the books I wanted in 2013 but I did fairly well. (Some of the books I mention didn't come out in 2013 but I still mention them because this is the year I read them 1st).

Saw the Bowie documentary last night, it was mainly about Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders from Mars (& Woody from the band is now the spitting image of Jim Bowen from Bullseye & even sounds like him!). I got the new issue of Diva because it had a big feature on the new Runaways film which included interviews with Cherie Currie and Lucy O' Brien (I did think she was a bit sniffy about them, but then again, it was great to see her mention Girlschool and I do think The Runaways were probably far more of an American influence than they were an UK one ( Read more... )

I got the new issue of Bust magazine (which was the best I'd seen in a while). It was the music issue and included interviews with Cherie Currie/Joan Jett and Wanda Jackson as well as a fashion shoot using musicians like Joanna Newsom and Melissa Auf Der Maur ( Read more... )

I got the new issue of Venus which I enjoyed. they had an interview with Melissa Auf Der Maur and an article on other stars who are multi-talented. They also had an article inspired by The Runaways movie on female bands who deserve to have their story immortalised in a movie like The Gits (although there is a documentary already out there on them ( Read more... )

You have to watch this, it's amazing. Cherie Currie from The Runaways and her twin sister Marie did an album together in the early 80s and this is them doing Since You've Been Gone (by Rainbow).
